In addition to pottery, I am also a painter. I am a lover of the natural world, and see many parallels between nature and day to day life. I use animals, plants and other objects to create symbolic narratives in deliberate compositions. I miss the days when people looked deeper at art, and the world and understood visual imagery to be clues to deeper meaning. I'm a big fan of Dutch still life painting, and that's a great example of what I'm trying to get at.
